  • Project Background

Fite Law is a Colorado Springs-based law firm focused on criminal, civil and family law with special interest in domestic violence. I was asked by attorney Carleigh Fite to develop the identity of her new law firm and create a website to drive client interest.

The website needed to be approachable and trustworthy because potential clients were searching for an attorney during a very stressful time in their life.

  • My Role

I worked closely with Ms. Fite to develop a logo identity that portrayed the law firm as supportive, strong, and compassionate. She wanted a simple and effective logo with only one or two colors. The identity shouldn't scream "attorney," but instead use subtle imagery to convey the message.

After the branding was complete, we turned to the website development. With Ms. Fite's input, I developed content, structure and usability for the website.  She wanted a client portal and appointment scheduling. Including local information and resources for domestic violence victims was also important to the client.

I began the design by looking at Ms. Fite's preferred websites, researching local competitors, and reviewing stock images. The discovery guided the rough draft of the website created in WordPress using Beaver Builder. I worked closely with Ms. Fite to tweak the content and images, install plug-ins, add SEO, edit design for responsive devices as necessary and finalize the site.
